We are very pleased to share with you the results of our Q4/2018 competition in which we asked our photographers to focus their eye on umbrellas – the theme of our shooting.

The competition attracted 7 photographers who submitted 9 shots featuring rain umbrellas, umbrellas, simply umbrellas.

With the first round of the jury’s evaluation, five photos were selected to the final voting stage (all featured below). Each of them having a slightly different element to catch the eye – creative, humorous or overall atmosphere to get to the winning picture by Alex.

Congratulations Alex!

The winner receives a book “The Essence of Photography” by Bruce Barnbaum. The book that shows that there’s a lot more to photography than simply picking up a camera, pointing it toward something, and tripping the shutter.

“The Photo was taken in Sonogno on a rainy summer day with my Leica gear (M240), 50ml Summilux. The old lady on the photo seemed to be the only inhabitant of the small Ticino town, she appeared to be everywhere I went and loved to be photographed. Once the rain disappeared, the old lady disappeared too.”
