If anyone ever asked for a head shot for Facebook, Linkedin, their CV or any other reason, you may have noticed that it is not so easy to make a portrait that shows your subject from their best side. The example above of Sonya was taken in the PICZ studio before the AWS shoot in June.

In this workshop we will be taking inspiration from Peter Hurley’s work and methods: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BFKeUXPDTHs
We will be taking turns shooting each other, so please bring appropriate wardrobe and makeup. You are allowed to bring a guest/model if someone near to you is volunteering to have their head shot taken by a number of photographers. You will be asked to sign a model release allowing the use of the images for the photographer’s portfolio. We will also making a timelapse of this workshop to promote the studio.
Who is it for
The workshop is aimed at intermediate to advanced photographers looking to improve their studio portrait skills
What to bring:
Camera: DSLR or equivalent M3/4. with a portrait lens (85mm equivalent) or zoom lens. Camera manual – in case you don’t know by heart how to trigger off-camera flash
Cost (payable in cash at the workshop)
The cost of the workshop is 75 CHF. All the proceeds go towards the studio. Exact chnage is much appreciated
Since we are incurring expenses to organize this workshop, we expect that people who register actually show-up. Since there have been some problems with this in the past we have had to start a “two strikes and you’re out” for no-shows. So, if your plans change, please unregister before the workshop or let us know via other means.
