This post is to show you the creative possibilities with the stuff that is available in the studio.
Before the AWS shoot on Thursday, i had a private one-on-one shoot with Katia. The first set I used to add some more material for the headshot workshop in December for which you can sign-up here: https://www.meetup.com/The-Zurich-Photography-Meetup-Group/events/255338419/
For the second set, I wanted to combine multiple elements of the workshops we did in the spring to create a Liebovitz / Ralph Lauren kind of look.
It combined painterly light, gels, backdrops, props, color grading and directing a model. If you were wondering what I was doing with the wall paper during the last club meeting, you can see the answer here.
The third set was to start preparing a “set designing and building” workshop for the fall. A number of you expressed interest in boudoir style shoots, so I decided to build a fake bedroom with some curtains, cardboard boxes, a bed-sheet and window blind. It took 5 minutes to set up, the lighting took a bit longer.
All these images were produced with the stuff that is available in the studio a and a bit of planning. I encourage you to try, it is really not that hard.
If you have a project in mind that you would like to shoot and need some help. let me know, I am happy to help you and be challenged. Also, if you have gotten a flavor during the workshops and AWS, and would like to shoot with a model for longer one-on-one shoot, let me know, there are opportunities to piggy-back on shoots we are organizing privately.
In January we will be starting to offer “Guided shoots” during which you will be one-on-one with a model while getting some coaching /assisting from more experienced members. If you are interested, please let myself or Nigel know. Depending on your wishes will do our best to oblige.
