THE THEME: Landscapes inspired by Ansel Adams

PICZ gives you the opportunity to (re)discover the work and style of the famous American photographer Ansel Adams (1902-1984).

He is best known for his black and white images of the American West and his iconic shoots of Yosemite’s. This quarter we propose you to get the inspiration from Adams work and to explore his technic to shoot your own iconic landscape photographies.

While we ask you to find the inspiration from him, do not feel oblige to copy his work. Once again we want you to be creative and to have fun so don’t hesitate to revisite his style and technic and to surprise us.

Description: Not always you have an honor of seeing McKinley in all its glory - a capricious mountain, often hiding under a cloud cloak, so this time the success was only half even though I was waiting quite long. I loved the frame so it was just a matter of time to get the shot I wanted – the mountain being visible and the action element on the road (I knew that busses were running occasionally so I just had to be patient and wait). Mount McKinley, also known as Denali, which is its current name, is the highest mountain of North America (6,190m above sea level) and the third highest isolated peak in the world. Its Koyukon Athabascan name means "the high one” or “the great one.” The picture was taken during my trip to Alaska in July 2017 with full focus on landscape photography. Canon EOS 5D Mark III + Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM, f/14, 1/540, ISO-200, 105mm, -0.7 EV with GC Gray filter used to get the contrast and clouds’ details.
